Emerald Greens founder and CEO Brian O’Reilly has a long track-record as a grower having run a successful mushroom operation for over thirty years from his base in Tipperary. A long time member and representive of the IFA he has served on numerous national boards, including Board Bia. In 2019 Brian took the decision to move away from mushroom production and set up a vertical farming venture in its place. He sourced the best hydroponic system available, kitted out his grow tunnels and Emerald Greens was born. Sustainability is at the core of the business model so the operation is powered by its own wind turbine. The 21st Century farm is proving to be a big success and has quickly gained a reputation for producing quality plants, no matter the season. |
